Family Y of Greater Augusta Launches New Mobile App

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Family Y of Greater Augusta will launch its new mobile app on May 27th. This app is free and will be available for Android and Apple devices.

"The Family Y is excited to launch this new app to stay in touch with our Y family throughout the CSRA," says Danny McConnell, President and CEO of the Family Y of Greater Augusta. "Family Y followers will be able to stay informed about what's going on at their Family Y."

App users will be able to register for programs, view the fitness schedules for each branch and receive notifications for canceled/rescheduled programs and events. Each branch has a separate page within the app and users will be able to choose their "home branch." Users will also have easy access to the Y's social media pages on Facebook and Twitter.

"The Family Y's new app will be an effective communication tool to stay in touch with our members throughout the organization," says Roseland Gibson, IT Director for the Family Y of Greater Augusta.

With a 155-year legacy of service in the Augusta area, the non-profit Family Y offers programs and services at 12 CSRA facilities, including nine program and fitness facilities, one full-time daycare center, and Camp Lakeside, and 88-acre camp located on Lake Thurmond.

The Family Y's Prime Time program provides after-school care at 33 Richmond and Aiken County elementary schools. Currently, more than 45,000 members and more than 20,000 non-member program participants are served by the Family Y. As part of its mission, financial assistance is available for all programs and services. The Family Y is a partner agency of the United Way of the CSRA, the United Way of Aiken County and the United Way of McDuffie County.
