Stabbing on Dean's Bridge Rd.

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

UPDATE: Richmond County investigators said Tonya S. Terry was stabbed several times in the chest area inside the Family Dollar on Dean's Bridge Road Saturday evening.

Investigators said Terry is the primary aggressor in the incident and was stabbed in self-defense. The victim has been identified as 27 year old India Q. Upshaw. 

Investigators said, at this time Upshaw has not been charged.

Terry was transported to GRU's Trauma Unit where she is in critical condition. Investigators said this is an on-going investigation.

Richmond County deputies also repsonded to a stabbing at 3038 Gibson Drive late Saturday evening. When investigators arrived,  20 year old Jonathan Terry said he had not been stabbed but was in a physical altercation with an unidentified subject. Terry had minor scratches and refused medical treatment by Gold Cross medics.

No word yet if these two cases are related.

ORIGINAL: Richmond County Dispatch confirms there has been a stabbing at a Family Dollar.

Deputies say it happened on the 2900 block of Dean's Bridge Road around 7:18 tonight.
