MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

A former fast-food restaurant on Main Street in Mesa was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning.

Mesa firefighters said they were on the defensive from the start and worked until the roof collapsed on the vacant building.

No injuries were reported.

Main Street was closed while firefighters continued to battle hot spots in the former Wendy's restaurant in a strip mall near Dobson Road.

No other information, including a cause, was immediately available.
