CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

FOX19 has partnered with Hoxworth Blood Center and Gold Star Chili for the fourth year in a row to present the, "Be a Chili Eatin', Blood Givin', Lifesavin' Rockstar" Summer Blood Drive Tour at a neighborhood near you.  

The summer months bring lower than ideal donations with a higher than average usage.   

Summer blood drive tour kicks-off at the Finneytown Gold Star location {link to Google Map} on Friday, May 24 between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  

During the tour, all registered donors will receive a free official Summer Tour T-Shirt and a Gold Star Cheese Coney!

Individuals who make a double red blood donation will receive a coupon for a free Gold Star Chili Double Decker Sandwich and those who make a platelet donation will receive a coupon for a free Gold Star Chili 3-way.    

FOX19 returns as the official media partner for the Summer Tour with live broadcasts from Tour stops.

The Tour will include 43 drives or "stops" that will include twenty-seven Gold Star locations and sixteen Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Centers.   

Donors can visit www.hoxworth.org/goldstar or call (513) 451-0910 or (800) 830-1091 to schedule an appointment to donate. Due to the anticipated popularity of this event, appointments are encouraged.
