Ariel Castro's life in jail

Ariel Castro Ariel Castro

19 Action News Reporter Ed Gallek has obtained jail logs showing what's been happening with Ariel Castro every ten minutes since he's been in the Cuyahoga County Jail.

Castro is on a suicide watch, so jail guards are monitoring him at least every ten minutes and writing down what he is doing.

The records show most of the time he is simply resting, but 19 Action News also noticed a couple of entries where he was walking around naked in his cell.

Guards are watching him so closely they have even chronicled when he was using the bathroom and when he has been eating.

Guards even have spoken to Castro about using two loose strings from his mat to floss his teeth. A guard cut the strings off.

Jailers also have made notations that any time Castro is moved, two guards from a jail special response team have to go with him.

Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were rescued from Castro's Seymour Avenue home last Monday. The women had been held against their will and sexually assaulted for years.

Berry went missing in 2003 a day shy of her 17th birthday. DeJesus disappeared as she walked home from school in 2004 at the age of 14. Knight went missing in 2002 at the age of 21.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced Monday that a comparison of Ariel Castro's DNA to the nationwide pool of DNA profiles has returned no matches.
