Suspect arrested after Augusta package shop robbery

UPDATE:

Jamell Williams is behind bars after investigators say he and another man robbed the Windsor Package Shop on Windsor Spring Road earlier this month.

Williams has been booked into the Richmond County Jail for Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime and Burglary 2nd Degree.

Investigators are still searching for Colby Bryton Mitchell.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Investigators need your help identifying two men who robbed Windsor Package Shop around 3pm on Friday, May 10. The two entered the shop on Windsor Spring Road armed with guns.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office released the following descriptions of the two men:

1-      B/M, 510-600 in height, 150-180 in weight, appeared to be in his early 20's, wearing gray sweat pants, white zip up hooded sweatshirt, a white toboggan on his head, a white shirt covering his face and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

2-      B/M, 510-600 in height, 150-180 in weight, shaved head, appeared to be in his early 20's, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

The suspects entered the store and made the store owner get on the floor while they took money. The suspects then ran from the store on foot and were seen by witnesses getting in to a green Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer.  The suspect vehicle then left the parking lot toward Tobacco Road. Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080.  Callers may remain anonymous.
