Daleville police officers now have tasers

Posted: Updated:

Daleville Police Officers will now have the option to carry tasers.

Tasers have been commonly used by police forces across the country for decades, but due to the cost of the weapon, Daleville police are just now adding tasers to the line of weaponry.

The equipment cost nearly $8,000. Officials say that the investment is well worth it because it might save lives.

Before officers are allowed to go out with the tasers they must first experience a shock by a taser themselves. Tasers cause neuro muscular incapacitation, which means that the victim is temporarily unable to move.
