Wilson House re-opens

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson re-opened Thursday.

The museum was closed for three months, two months longer than expected for renovations on the first and third floors of the main house.

"The plaster on the first floor was totally repaired and repainted as well as the third floor and the second floor of the service kitchen building," said Stephanie Herzberg, Museum Docent. "Soon we are going to do the same with the second floor and we are still seeking funds to help with that."

Donations to the Wilson House restoration project can be made through Historic Augusta, Inc. at www.historicaugusta.org.

Tours are offered Thursdays through Saturdays on the hour from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
