Local salon cuts to give back

Posted: Updated:

Every month the Salon at Surrey makes an effort to give back to the community either locally or nationally. This month they decided to give back to the victims of the Boston Marathon and the plant explosion in West Texas.

"A lot of locals came in and we did dry haircuts for $10 and we raised about $500," said Kate Spivey and we are going to split the funds and send $ 250 to West Texas and $250 to Boston."

The salon plans to do another fundraiser for the victims in the next couple of months.
