A preview of the George W. Bush Presidential Center

DALLAS, TX (KCBD) -

The stage is set in Dallas for the unveiling of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Thousands will descend on the SMU campus Thursday morning for the dedication and the list of distinguished guests is endless. The five living American presidents will be in attendance along with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, just to name a few.

KCBD was given a first-hand tour Wednesday morning of the Bush museum, which opens to the public on May 1st. Inside are thousands of artifacts that depict the Bush's lives before, during and after the White House. However, the most moving portion of the museum is the 9/11 exhibit. Guests viewed a mangled piece of metal from World Trade Tower #2 and museum staff actually encouraged visitors to reach out and touch it. Also on display is the bull horn the president used at Ground Zero, just days after 9/11. Museum guests can also walk through a full-size replica of the Oval Office that leads into a replica of the Rose Garden.

KCBD's Sarah-Blake Morgan and Video journalist Ruben Villarreal will be at tomorrow's dedication and will be bringing you updates starting at 4, leading into the exclusive look at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, Thursday night at 10 p.m.
