Reds come alive in 7th to overcome Marlins 10-6

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Reds came alive in the seventh inning on Sunday to overcome the Miami Marlins 10-6.

The Reds were tied 2-2 going into the 7th after early game heroics from Joey Votto with a solo homerun in the 1st and an RBI single in the 3rd.

With bases loaded in the 7th, Brandon Phillips kicked off the scoring parade for the Reds with a two run single. Bruce was walked loading the bases up again for Mesoraco. A single by Mesoraco scored Votto from third.

A bases loaded double from Todd Frazier scored two more for the Reds. Choo also doubled to score Frazier from second. A single from Xavier Paul drove in Choo before the side was retired.

Eight runs scored in the seventh gave the Reds a 10-2 lead over the Marlins.

Although the Reds let up 4 runs in the 9th, Logan Ondrusek gets the wins for the Reds.
