The suspect in the shooting that killed a mother and injured her two children has been taken into custody.
Steve Lawrence Allen has been booked into the Richmond County Jail.
Allen is facing murder, two counts of aggravated assault and weapons charges.
The names of the victims have been released in the shooting at Biltmore Place.
Linda Crumbley and her 33-year-old son Mario Crumbley and 27-year-old daughter Dekrizia Crumbley were all taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
Linda, 57, died from her injuries at the hospital.
Mario is said to be in critical but stable condition and Dekrizia is in serious but stable condition.
On Tuesday April 16, 2013 at approximately 1415 hours, Steve Lawrence Allen was taken into police custody in Toombs County, GA. Charges are pending at this time.
Richmond County Sheriff's Deputies confirm, one person has died following a shooting at Biltmore Place. Two others were injured in that shooting and are still being treated at Georgia Regents Medical Center. The victim's identities have not been released.
Neighbors in the area are in shock with this news. "We had crime but we've never had a shooting like this, since I've been here, so it's kind of scary", says Shenitia Martin. "It makes me real scared to know that someone can come in this neighborhood and do something like this and just up and leave."
Violent Crimes Investigators are still on the scene and are currently looking for Steve Lawrence Allen of Blythe, GA. Investigators call Allen a person of interest. Investigators are on the scene of a shooting off of Meadowbrook Drive in Augusta. Witnesses on the scene tell WFXG, 3 people were shot along the 3500 block of Biltmore Place this morning.
Not much information has been released at this time, but the search is on right now for the shooter or shooters.
