SAGINAW, MI (WNEM/AP) -
Saginaw Police continue to investigate a homicide in the city and it is believed that the woman's child alerted a man on the street of her death.
Now the search is on for a man police say is wanted for questioning in the April 15 death of his girlfriend. Police say that man, Michael Duane Lawrence, 24, is considered armed and dangerous.
Police were called to the home on Monday afternoon near the intersection of Bond and Cooper Streets.
Police say they found 23-year-old Angelica Olivarez dead inside the home. Olivarez's three-year-old son, who she fathered with Lawrence, was found wandering the streets by a neighbor after the incident and is believed to have been left alone for hours after his mother died.
Police said Lawrence is wanted on homicide charges in the unrelated homicide of a six-year-old on Aug. 29, 2012. He is also charged with conspiring to commit that crime, five counts of assault with intent to murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, carrying a concealed weapon, and possessing a firearm as a felon, and nine counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony-second offense.
Lawrence is described as African-American, standing five-feet 10 inches tall and weighing 160 lbs.
Police said they're also looking for a car linked to the incident. They're looking for a 2002 Dodge Neon that's light blue or turquoise in color, with Michigan license plate 8HRP88. The four-door car is described by police as having some front-end damage, a rear spoiler and slightly tinted rear windows.
Police say anyone who spots the car should call 911 and not approach the vehicle. Saginaw police also are seeking tips in the case and can be reached at 989-759-1258 or 989-759-1487.
