NOTASULGA, Ala. (AP) - National Weather Service forecasters have confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Huntsville as a storm system crossed the state Thursday.

Meteorologists in Huntsville say two separate EF-1 tornadoes touched down in the Lily Flagg and Dug Hill areas of Huntsville. Tornadoes can range from EF-1 to EF-5 and officials say the Thursday tornadoes registered at the lower end of the severity scale.

The twister that touched down in Lily Flagg had a peak wind speed of 90 mph, was 300 yards wide and traveled just under two miles.

The tornado in Dug Hill had a peak wind speed of 105 mph, was 75 yards wide and traveled about 1.3 miles.

Meteorologists say no fatalities or serious injuries were reported in either storm.
