High school student dies following collapse

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A local teen is dead following a collapse at Paine College.

Paine College released an email today sharing their sympathy for the death of Fredricia Rouse, a Hephzibah High School Student. Officials say Rouse was a member of the Paine College Upward Bound program and fell ill during an activity there at the college.

She was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center and passed away yesterday. No word yet on what caused her death. A vigil is being held at Paine College Thursday night. FOX54 will have more the vigil tonight on FOX54 News at 10pm and right here at wfxg.com.
