UPDATE: Ramp closed following truck crash along I-20

UPDATE (8:24 p.m.): Crews have recovered the overturned 18 wheeler that flipped onto its side earlier today.

UPDATE: The I-20 East ramp at Bobby Jones will be closed around 4pm Wednesday so that crews can attempt to flip an 18-wheeler back upright. Officials say they expect the ramp to be back open by 5:30pm. Deputies tell FOX54, the truck driver was driving too fast and that he will be charged in the crash.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office and Georgia State Patrol are working an 18 wheeler crash on Bobby Jones Expressway at the I-20 East ramp.

The crash only involved the truck. It happened around 11:15 Wednesday morning.

Deputies tell FOX54 the truck's load shifted causing the truck to crash on to its side. The driver was injured, but the injuries are said to be minimal.

Traffic is moving slowly at this time West Bound I-20 at Bobby Jones Expressway. Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
