AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -
All the artwork in a new display at
the Morris Museum of Art was drawn by cancer patients and the students who are
helping them through treatments.
The students spend about six hours a
week with cancer patients; either drawing with them or drawing for them.
Sara Jalilnasab is a junior at Georgia
Regents University.
She helps with the art therapy and she
said, "I had one patient come in there and she was just having the worst day.
So I sat there for about two and a half hours with her and she told me about
her life, I told her about mine and we all just drew together and it was
fantastic."
About 40 people contributed to the artwork in the gallery.
The "Art of Healing" exhibit will be
open for another month.
