NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

An early-morning mulch fire has been extinguished in Bordeaux.

Fire crews said the fire burned for a couple of hours at the Bordeaux Mulch Center off County Hospital Road near the city's landfill.

A back hoe was brought to the location to smother the fire by dumping mounds of dirt on it. The fire was extinguished by 5:30 a.m.

No homes or structures were threatened.

Metro workers are still at the scene to keep an eye on the situation.
