SWAINSBORO, GA (WFXG) -
Just
another Saturday afternoon when group of young girls were riding their bikes this
Swainsboro neighborhood…until they saw something in the woods.
"First
my sister said it was a dead body," one of the girls said. "Then we said it
might be a baby doll. So we went to go get grandpa, and he came to it and told
us to go home."
Investigators
say the children found the body of 37-year-old Jennifer Sutton in a vacant
wooded lot between two houses. She was last seen alive around 3:30 a.m.
Neighbors couldn't believe it was her.
Swainsboro
police are working to figure out how Sutton died. They are treating this
investigation like a homicide. Investigators say they have several persons of
interests, but no arrests have been made.
"I
still have dreams about that dead body," another girl said.
And
even though the girls are still shaken up over the incident, they say they're
doing better now that the body is gone.
