Deputies seized more than 900 pounds of marijuana from an SUV abandoned during a pursuit in Pinal County early Friday morning.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office said deputies tried to stop a 2000 silver-colored Chevy Tahoe with no brake or taillights on Interstate 8 in the Vekol Valley corridor, but the driver sped through oncoming traffic and into the desert. The driver came to a stop after plowing into a wash and hitting an embankment. The driver and passenger got out and ran into the desert, according to PCSO.
The deputy found 15 bundles of marijuana valued at $453,500.
Authorities weren't able to find the suspects.
