SPRINGFIELD, GA (WTOC) -

A woman searching for the man that rescued her after a dangerous wreck left her wounded and stranded on the side of the road has been reunited with her hero.

Elizabeth Jackson was on her way to work when she lost control of her truck on Longbridge Road in Springfield.

"I went to sit my drink beside me and I felt I was going off the right side of the road a little so I jerked the wheel too hard, lost control and it went off the other side of the ravine," said Jackson.

Jackson was ejected from the truck. Once she gained consciousness, she realized her legs were hurt. Freezing and injured, Jackson feared the worst, but then a Good Samaritan stopped to help.

"A motorcyclist saw me and put his coat on me and he said he was calling for help and I never seen him again. I realized I still have his coat," said Jackson.

Jackson said she hoped to find the man that braved the cold and saved her life.

Immediately after the story aired on WTOC Sunday afternoon, a woman called the station and said the jacket belonged to her husband.

A WTOC news crew was in Springfield as Jackson and the stranger who came to her aid, Aaron Henderson, reunited. Turns out they are neighbors, and Henderson did not ride a motorcycle, the motorcyclist drove to call for help while Henderson stayed by Jackson's side.

"I just stayed there, she needed someone. It's not something any person wants to go through alone." said Henderson.

"He said he was planning on coming here anyway but wanted to wait for me to get better." Jackson said after reuniting with Henderson.

It was a happy ending to a horrible situation. Jackson is doing better and is now home recovering.

Both Jackson and Henderson say it was a night neither will ever forget.
