LONGMEADOW, MA (WSHM) -

A teenage driver was able to escape her burning car on Shaker Road in Longmeadow after crashing into a telephone pole and tree Thursday night.

Police say flames engulfed the car after the teenager hit a patch of ice and lost control, sending her into the telephone pole.

The teen jumped out of the car and is uninjured.

The accident cut power to some Longmeadow residents. As of 8:30 p.m. five Western Mass Electric Co. customers are without power, according to the company's website.
