Columbia County Sheriff's deputy terminated, charged

Columbia County, GA (WFXG) -

A Columbia County Sheriff's deputy has been terminated and charged with a crime following an investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Staff Sergeant David Kitchens was soliciting business while on duty for a personal injury attorney, according to CCSO officials.

The Criminal Investigations Division investigated the matter and Kitchens was terminated from employment on February 25.

On Tuesday, Kitchens was also charged Violation of Oath of Office and Computer Theft.

Columbia County Sheriff's deputy terminated, charged
