Wheelchair basketball raises money for girl in need

Posted: Updated:
NORTH BEND, OH (FOX19) -

Two national wheelchair basketball teams were in town on Sunday facing off for a good cause.

The Moraine Minutemen took on the Lexington Hill-on-Wheels at Three Rivers Middle School on Sunday morning.

The teams donated all proceeds made to a program called Wheels for Alli.

Alli Acey is a junior at Taylor High School. She has cerebral palsy and is required to use a wheelchair for mobility.

Alli's motorized wheelchair uses a specialized lift attached to her family's van. Unfortunately, the family's van is in need of repairs beyond the worth of the vehicle.

All proceeds made in Sunday's game went toward a reliable wheelchair accessible van for the family.
