BEREA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A man and a woman from West Virginia are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 890 Oxycodone pills, worth approximately $27,000, during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike.

Troopers stopped a 2009 Toyota with West Virginia registration for a marked lanes violation on the Ohio Turnpike near milepost 133 in Lorain County at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday. Upon contact with the vehicle, troopers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and the passenger throwing an object on the rear floor when instructed to exit the vehicle.

A probable cause search revealed:

-Additional drug paraphernalia

-A small blue flashlight, which passenger Andrew Stayton, 31, of Buckhannon, WV, threw. Inside the flashlight, troopers found five Oxycodone pills.

-A baggy of white powder

-Nine additional prescription pills

During interaction with driver Hannah Aloi, 23, of Buckhannon, WV, she voluntarily revealed she concealed an additional 885 Oxycodone pills on her person.

Aloi and Stayton were incarcerated in the Lorain County Jail. They have been charged with possession of a scheduled II substance and aggravated drug trafficking, which are first-degree felonies, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

If convicted, each could face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.
