MILFORD, OH (FOX19) -

Fire crews have extinguished a large house fire in Milford.

The fire broke out around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning at 22 Oakcrest Drive. Officials believe the fire started in the garage of the home before spreading towards the back.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the home almost completely engulfed in flames. Crews also had to call for an alternative source after a water main break restricted their water supply. Two additional fire companies were also called to the scene for assistance.

The owner of the home was woken up by the smell of smoke and was able to evacuate safely.

Officials say the home is a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
