Driver charged with reckless murder in early morning fatal crash

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Part of the Southern Boulevard was shut down this morning after a car collided with a truck tractor at the intersection of Rosa Parks Avenue and the South Boulevard.

MDP's initial investigation indicates that at approximately 3:30 a.m., a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by Andre Mosley, entered the intersection and was struck by a truck tractor.  Two of the three passengers in the Grand Marquis were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The third passenger, Zack Lykes, was pronounced dead at the scene. Mosley and the driver of the truck tractor were not injured.

MPD has charged Mosley, age 35 of Montgomery, with reckless murder in connection with the death Zack Lykes age 41, also of Montgomery.

Following his arrest, Mosley was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he is being held under a $75,000 bond.

This cause of this crash is currently under investigation, and no further information is available for release at this time. This is the city of Montgomery's third traffic fatality of 2013.
