Woman struck by vehicle on SR 199

FOSTORIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A woman was taken to the hospital early Sunday morning, after being struck by a vehicle.

According to the Wood County Sheriff's Office, she was walking on State Route 199, in Perry Township.

Deputies say 23 year old Bridgette Staley of Bluffton was found unresponsive, lying in the roadway around 3 a.m., near the intersection of Ohio 199 and Pelton Road, just north of Fostoria.

The victim was taken by EMS to Fostoria City Hospital and later airlifted to a Toledo area hospital.

The vehicle involved in the accident was later located.

Deputies say the driver has been identified.

The incident is currently under investigation.
