Worker falls in Bell Auditorium

UPDATE:"Last night we had an incident at The Bell Auditorium where an employee was transported to the hospital and treated," said General Manager Monty Jones.

FOX54 is told the fall happened sometime after 10 p.m. Tuesday night but the details surrounding that fall are still not clear. According to The Bell Auditorium web site, there was a show Tuesday night at 7:30 however officials are not saying whether or not the employee was working that show.

"Our prayers are out to the family," said Jones.

Hospital officials said Watkins is stable and conscious.

However, sources told FOX54 he does not appear to remember much about the incident.

FOX54 reached out to the family who said it is too soon to talk about the incident.

ORIGINAL STORY:A man was transported to the hospital after falling nearly 50 feet at Bell Auditorium. 

FOX54 is told the man that fell is David Watkins, a worker at Bell Auditorium.

Gold Cross responded to the scene Tuesday night and said the worker appeared to be working on the inside of the building, possibly in the rafters.

Watkins was taken to Georgia Regents University Hospital where officials said he is currently in fair condition.
