Doctors Hospital to file appeal to build ER

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A spokeswoman for Doctor's Hospital tells Fox 54, CEO Doug Welch will appeal their denied proposal to build an ER unit in Columbia County.

Earlier this year Doctors Hospital's $9.6 million proposal to build an emergency room. The Department of Health denied the proposal, saying there were enough urgent care units in the county.

Welch will submit the appeal on Friday or Monday.
