Man charged in gun show shooting

MEDINA, OH (WOIO) -

Medina Police have filed charges against Harry G. Magocky, 59, of Parma as a result of a shooting that happened on January 19, 2013, at the Medina County Gun Show.

Those charges include discharging a firearm in the city limits, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree and negligent assault, a misdemeanor of the third degree.

Magocky was negligently handling a 9mm semi-automatic handgun during the show when it discharged, striking Robert Rousseau, 63, of Lorain, Ohio, in the arm and leg. Rousseau was treated and released from the hospital as a result of the injury.

For the third degree misdemeanor Magocky is facing a maximum fine of $500 and sixty days in jail and also a possible fine of $250 and thirty days in jail for the fourth degree misdemeanor.
