ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

A Rock Hill woman was arrested after she assaulted her husband with a logging chain during a dispute, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened the morning of Sunday, February 10, at the woman's home on Indian Trail in Rock Hill.

A 33-year-old man called the Sheriff's Office asking for deputies to meet him at a location near the Indian Trail home. Once deputies arrived, the man told them he and his wife, Amber Carroll, 28, had been in a fight, and that she had assaulted him, according to the report.

He went on to tell deputies that he and Carroll were separated. He had gone to the house after Carroll had called him asking for food for her two children, deputies said.

Once the man had given the children food and picked up a few of his things, he tried to leave. That's when Carroll refused to get off the tailgate of his truck, and wouldn't let him leave.

He asked the woman several times to get off the truck and let him leave, but she kept refusing and kicking the side of his truck, denting it, deputies said.

When the victim tried to pull Carroll off of the truck, she grabbed a logging chain from the bed of the truck and wrapped it around her hand and swung it at him, hitting him in the hand and leg, the report states.

Officers documented the man's injuries and went to Carroll's home, where she admitted swinging the chain at the victim, but not striking him with it.

Once a family member could come and pick up Carroll's children she was arrested and taken to the York County Detention Center.

Carroll was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
