A Trojan horse apartment attack: Two women knock at the door....
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office is investigating the report of a home invasion and assault, Tuesday morning, at the Mission Viejo Apartment Complex.
The two residents of the targeted apartment were woken up by a knock at the door around 1:30 in the morning.
According to statements from the victims, they found two women standing outside of their apartment.
One resident opened the door and one of the females asked for a person by name. The resident replied that that person did not live there.
That's when a masked man appeared at the door and began striking the victim with a pistol. As that person was being attacked, a second masked man entered the apartment and pointed a pistol at the second victim.
The attack lasted for a very brief period of time after which the suspects ran away from the area.
The first victim was taken to Deaconess Hospital for treatment of the injuries sustained in the assault. The second victim was uninjured.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with any information on the incident is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 421-6339.
