Commission does not approve pay raises for city officials

Posted: Updated:

Newly elected Sheriff Richard Roundtree and Solicitor General Kellie Kenner-McIntyre will not receive pay raises after requesting the city administrator and the Augusta-Richmond County commission to review their current salaries.

Monday afternoon, the commission voted down the motion in a 4 to 5 vote. Right now, Sheriff Roundtree makes $100,000 and Kenner McIntyre makes nearly $97,000. The pay raise would have increased their salaries to $127,000 and $106,000 respectively.
