Investigators searching for suspected gas station armed robber

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect accused of robbing a gas station in Augusta.

On Thursday around 8:45, RCSO responded to the BP Gas Station at 2061 Gordon Highway in reference to an armed robbery of the business.

When deputies arrived, the cashier informed them that an unknown man had entered the gas station armed with a handgun, and forced her to open the register. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the suspect.  Anyone with information is requested to call 706-821-1080 with any information.  Callers may remain anonymous.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • Black male
  • 5'03" in height
  • 130 lbs
  • Mid 20s
  • Brown complexion
  • Goatee
  • Wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood and dark jeans.
