CVG Flights to Northeast cancelled or delayed by storm

HEBRON, KY (FOX19) -

Flights in and out of New York and other airports in the Northeast have been canceled or delayed with a massive snow storm building.

By mid-morning, most passengers headed to the Northeast out of CVG were booked on earlier flights, but still some passengers, like Suvodip Datta, found their travel plans unexpectedly interrupted.

Datta described it as, "It's gotten, you know bizerk."

Datta is flying to India, but his connecting flight through New York has been scrubbed.

"I was supposed to fly through New York back to India today, but all flights to New York are canceled, all flights from New York are delayed at least a day, and we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow."

Datta said he had to reschedule his flight.

"So what I've done is got a new booking through, re-booked through Houston so I was trying through other places Chicago, Houston. Luckily I got it through Houston."

With so many flights canceled, re-booking seems to be the order of the day. Kelley Kammack said that's just what he did.

"I had my layover through Philadelphia, but I noticed that the snow was going to happen so I called and canceled it and decided to go through Charlotte."

Kammack was fortunate to be heading to San Francisco away from the storm, but Manish Patel said his travel plans were changed more than once.

"I was originally supposed to fly through Chicago, that got canceled last night, then I was supposed to fly through New York, that got canceled, so now I'm going through Atlanta."

Dave Welsh said he's worried about his return trip from Washington, D.C.

"I should be fine getting to DC, but Sunday evening when I'm flying back from DC to Cincinnati that's when I think I'll be concerned depending on how bad things are over the weekend."

John Williams was trying to get back home to Manchester, England and got bad news when he looked at the Arrival/Departure board.

"I just looked at the board at this moment just to make sure I get my flight home... It's canceled."
