Richmond Co. school system recommended for reaccreditation

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Richmond County school system has been recommended for reaccreditation through AdvancED, the accreditation agency over the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

If the school system meets the agency's high educational standards and if the system receives final approval, it would give students a better shot at getting accepted into universities.

Superintendent Frank Roberson says, "It does give them an advantage. They can go off to college and have under their belt that they graduated from a school system that has been accredited by AdvancED."

Roberson tells Fox54 they will learn if they have been granted reaccreditation with the agency within a month.
