Local group looks to connect mentors, area youth

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A Richmond County group is continuing to work to stop violence and crime in our community.

Live and Let Live CSRA held their second town hall meeting Wednesday evening at Friedman Branch Library.

The group says their goal isn't to mentor to youth, but to match them with the right mentorship group in the area.

They say working together is the best way to get things done.

"We have groups on this side of town. There may be five individuals. There may be two or three here," says co-founder Cartez Bailey. "But with us joining forces, it presents a strong front. Therefore, we can accomplish more."

At Wednesday's town hall meeting, several area mentor group leaders led a panel, as well as a question and answer session.
