NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -
North Augusta Public Safety has confirmed a boy was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike around 4:35pm on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Thurmond Street and Seymour Drive, just off of Old Edgefield Road.
Lt.
Tim Thornton told FOX54 that a nine-year old boy was riding his bicycle
and did not stop at a stop sign. A 2006 Toyota pickup truck then struck
him.
The truck was reported to be driving at a very slow rate of
speed. The child received injuries to the left hand, which included
broken fingers.
He was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center for treatment, but is expected to make a full recovery.
The driver of the Toyota truck is not expected to face charges.
