RIGHT NOW: Virginia Beach Golf Management pulls their bid on The Patch

Posted: Updated:
AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

FOX54 has just confirmed the Virginia Company looking into leasing the The Patch has pulled its bid.

The announcement comes just one day after commissioners failed to approve the lease for Virginia Beach Golf Management. With the vote at 5-4 in favor of approval Tuesday night, Commissioner Marion Williams abstained, denying Mayor Deke Copenhaver the opportunity to break the tie.

For now The Patch is still under the City of Augusta's management. No word yet on any other plans officials have for the golf course.

There currently is no money in the 2013 budget set aside to fund The Patch.

FOX54 will have much more on this story coming up tonight on FOX54 News at 10pm and right here all day long.
