Suspect in child rape case appears in court

Ernest Manery

A man was in court on Wednesday, accused of raping a young child.

Ernest Manery, 58, is facing several charges including rape of a child under 12 and six other related charges.

He is also charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registration.

Manery pleaded not guilty and was appointed a public defender. His next court appearance is March 20.

Manery is identified as a sexual predator on the Ohio Sex Offender Registry.
