YUMA, AZ (CBS5/KSWT) -

Three schools were on lockdown in Yuma most of Tuesday after there were reports of a student with a gun on campus.

KSWT, the CBS affiliate in Yuma, reports that police put a lockdown on Rancho Viejo Elementary on Tuesday morning. Two other nearby schools are also on lockdown as a precaution.

Yuma police tell CBS 5 News that H.L. Suverkrup students can be picked up at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 4300 W. County Ninth St.

The Yuma Police Department, along with the Yuma County Sheriff's Office and Border Patrol, conducted a search of the school and no gun was found.

At 3 p.m., Yuma police said the lockdown was lifted at Salida Del Sol and the surrounding schools.

"I am very pleased with the response of our students and staff at the schools. They followed procedures, everything went smoothly and nobody was harmed. I appreciate the support of our parents during this difficult situation," Superintendent Robert Klee said during a press briefing.
