SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A Phoenix Suns player got in trouble for speeding down Scottsdale Road at more than 70 miles per hour, according to police.

Michael Beasley, 23, was stopped during the early morning hours on Jan. 25 for going 71 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to the police report.

Scottsdale police said Beasley's Mercedes-Benz did not have a license plate.

According to the police report, Beasley had a valid Florida license, but in Arizona, his driving privileges were suspended. On Oct. 23, 2012, his license was suspended for not appearing in Phoenix City Court.

Police found a gun in the car with one bullet in it.

The Suns forward cooperated with police and was cited and released. Police said Beasley and his two passengers then walked toward Beasley's home.
