ATLANTA, GA -
The Kroger Co. Atlanta Division said
today it is recalling select in-store made Bakery Mardi Gras King Cake Cinnamon
sold in 4 states because it may contain pecans not listed on the label.
Customers who purchased the product
between December 30, 2012 and February 4, 2013, should return the
product to stores for a full refund or replacement.
People who are allergic to pecans could
have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this
product. For consumers who are not allergic to pecans, there is no safety
issue with the product.
The Kroger stores in the following
states that are included in this recall are: Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina,
and eastern Tennessee.

February 7, 2013 and before, under the following UPC Code:
4157327767.
Reason:
This product may contain undeclared
PECANS and, if eaten, could result in severe allergic reactions in persons
sensitive to PECANS
Kroger has removed affected items from
store shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system that alerts
customers who may have purchased recalled Class 1 products through register
receipt tape messages and phone calls.
