Autopsy results released for man killed in deputy-involved shooting

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The autopsy results have been released for the man killed in a deputy-involved shooting at the Fox Den Apartments in Augusta.

Chaz Williams, 21, fled a traffic stop that led to the incident at the apartment complex.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said that Williams died of "multiple gunshot wounds."

They also said that Williams had two self-inflicted knife wounds on his neck.

GBI is sending additional evidence to the crime lab to confirm whether or not the shooting was justified. They also will be interviewing a couple more witnesses, before they send their conclusions to District Attorney Ashley Wright's office.

The GBI does not yet know when they will finish their investigation.
