CONNEAUT, OH (WOIO) -

A little boy found wandering outside alone in freezing conditions.

It happened Friday, February 1 just before 8 a.m. on Poplar Street in Conneaut.

Police were called in regards to a small child walking around in the snow with only pajamas and shoes on. The outside temperature was 18 degrees and 6 degrees with the wind chill.

By the time police arrived, witnesses had wrapped the little boy up in a blanket, but the child was still shivering. The little boy told officers he was freezing.

EMS was called to treat the child.

The boy's mother arrived a short time later, and told officers her four-year-old son must have snuck out of the home, but was not sure.

Police are sending the case to the Law Director's Office for charges.
