2 people shot at Clarksville party

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police said they are sorting through different accounts of a shooting at an apartment complex Thursday night in Montgomery County.

The shooting occurred in the 130 block of Westfield Court around 10:30 p.m.

When officers arrived they found a "chaotic scene" with multiple victims/witnesses in and outside an apartment.

Officers said one 27-years-old man had jumped from the balcony and was found outside on the ground with a gunshot wound to his leg and also a hip injury. He remains hospitalized Friday evening.

Another man, 21 years old, was found inside the apartment with a gunshot wound to the leg. He has been treated and released from the hospital.

There was also an 18-year-old woman who had sustained an injury to her foot after jumping from the balcony. She was also treated and released, police said.

Police said there were several people playing games, drinking and some smoking marijuana.

At some point, two men possibly known to some of the people inside of the apartment, entered through an unlocked door carrying a handgun and a rifle.

Police said the men started yelling at the partygoers, people started to scatter, shots were fired, some ran out the door and others jumped from the balcony or out a window.

When officers arrived, the two men had already left the area. Police are still investigating. No arrests have been made.
