UPDATE: Names released in Thursday AA Hwy crash

COLD SPRING, KY (FOX19) -

Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash Thursday morning on the AA Highway.

Around 7:00 Thursday morning, officers responded to a report an accident on the AA Highway,  just north of Glenridge.

Officers say the driver of a semi, Albert Woodard of Terre Haute, IN, hit a small SUV while attempting to change lanes.

Officers say the crash caused the driver of the SUV, Paul Reis of California, Kentucky, to lose control and hit a Chevy Malibu that was headed northbound.

Officers say Reis then crossed the center line into the path of a BMV, driven by Tafari Love, of Cincinnati.

Reis' SUV then continued across the roadway, ending up in the ditch on the southbound side of the roadway.

The Malibu, which was driven by Kathleen B. Markus of Alexandria, also ended up in the ditch on the southbound side of the roadway.

Reis, Love and his passenger, Kim Noble of Cold Spring, Kentucky, were transported to University Hospital in Cincinnati with serious injuries.

Markus was checked by the Alexandria Life Squad and refused transportation to the hospital.   Albert Woodard was not injured.

Completion of the accident investigation will determine if charges will be pursued in the cause of the accident.
