Suspect charged in road rage shooting

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man accused of a shooting during a recent road rage incident earlier this month is now in police custody.

The incident occurred on Jan. 19 on Briley Parkway.

A couple said they had just left the Rivergate area when an SUV slammed on the brakes in front of them repeatedly, almost causing an accident near Clarksville Pike.

The car behind the SUV stopped and a man, Brandon Bingham, got out to approach the SUV.

Police said the SUV also stopped and a passenger fired four shots, hitting Bingham in the leg. The SUV sped away, but the couple wrote down the license plate.

Authorities later charged Brandon C. Scott, 19, with aggravated assault for firing the shots. Scott was already in custody for another matter before he was charged in the shooting.
