UPDATE: Suspect arrested in GNC store attempted robbery

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office have announced an arrested in the attempted robbery of a GNC store.

Brendan Allen Gray, Jr, 23, has been arrested in connection with the robbery. Gray was arrested on the 3500 block of Hemstead Court in Hephzibah, after fleeing his residence into a wooded area.

Gray is charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, and Possession of Marijuana.

Investigators expect to make another arrest soon.

Investigators are looking for two suspects accused of trying to rob the GNC store on Bobby Jones Expressway.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office tells us that two armed suspects entered the store last night around 8pm.

The store clerk was working at the time of the incident, but was able to escape the store. Investigators tell us that the clerk is recovering from some minor injuries.

The two suspects are described as a Hispanic male and a Black female.
